Turkey will host the Mediterranean Games that made to ensure both cultural and social cohesion in the Mediterranean coastal countries, in 2013 for the second time. Tennis complex with 3000 seats, designed as one of the facilities needed for the 17th Mediterranean Olympic Games in Mersin, consists of 1 outdoor tenis court, 2 indoor tenis courts and 8 training courts.
Olympics and other important events like this are very important in terms of being the platform of showing both the city and the country where it is made, to the whole world. Designed with this awareness, the tenis complex was designed to meet the expectations of both sportsmen and the audience in international standards.
Audience entries, protocol entries and athletes entries were provided at different locations to facilitate the circulation and organization of the complex. A sufficient number of exits were planned from different locations and elevations in order to evacuate the complex as soon as possible in case of a negative situation.
Sportsman / woman changing rooms, observer and referee rooms, relaxation rooms, rooms of various sizes and functions for the media members, technical units, management rooms and offices are designed in 4 basements. Under each Grand stand for audiences sufficient number of toilets and buffets were planned. In the building where indoor tenis courts are located, offices, cafeteria and the necessary are as for the sportsman / woman were designed.
In addition to being functional, considering the potential of the audience, it was aimed to met the comfort and expectations of individuals of all ages, of all genders and of all nationalities, and to transform the competitions to a qualified visual pleasure for the audiences.
