The competition area, which is surrounded by Cumhuriyet Boulevard - Atatürk Street - Piri Reis Street, which are the primary vehicle circulation axes in the city scale, and which we can call relatively secondary vehicle circulation axes and Mehmetçik Boulevard, is a stopping point between the city center and the pier line, which is the most intense pedestrian circulation artery. Because of its position, it has the potential to be a living focal point for the city. On the other hand, it is close to attraction points such as Troy Statue, Aynalı Bazaar, Çimenlik Castle, Clock Tower, which local and foreign tourists visiting the city, and that it is close to focal points such as the Public Garden and State Hospital, which are used extensively by the city residents, increase the importance of the area. Despite this, it was observed that the area could not go beyond being an urban void, where different age groups somehow pass by, pass by, pass through, and do not live sufficiently at any time of the day. However, the city exists for people, it must respond to their ever-changing / evolving needs and create a suitable ground for their communication and activities. In this context, urban public spaces are the most important tools that meet these requirements. From this point of view, it is aimed to transform Cumhuriyet Square and Muammer Aksoy Park, which cannot go beyond being an urban void in the current situation, into a "new focal point" in the whole city and to create a public space that can be used at all hours of the day, taking into account the city center and its close environment relations. For this purpose, a "structural structure" has been proposed that can present these areas, which are trying to fulfill their functions within their own borders and have discontinuities in terms of their relationship with each other and with the city, to the city in integrity with each other and with the Çarşı-Life Center, and bring an innovative interpretation to the urban space. It is envisaged that both city residents and visitors will gather under this structure, spend time and organize various activities.

The structure, which offers an extraordinary focal point for the city in a texture that can be called traditional in the site area, is also exciting in terms of experiencing the situation created by two contrasting fictions that are conventional and innovative. It is anticipated that this intervention to be made in the area that carries the "yesterday" in its context will encourage new formations in terms of "tomorrow" and will bring a new and different perspective to the urban renewal process as an important step in designing the future of the whole city. The structure, which has the potential to be one of the city symbols, has been seen as a new liveliness / dynamism reason for the area and for the city at a higher scale, even with its own existence. The orientation of the structure on the building in the direction of the entrance axis, tearing the parapet of the building and ending on the building as a skylight, is important in terms of ensuring its integration with the structure, as well as transferring the pedestrian density from the three corners of the area into the Shopping Center and Life Center.

The fact that the trees in the competition area will be protected has been an important input for the intervention to be made on the area and the integration of the building to be designed with the existing landscape. This "structural structure", which can be considered as the backbone of the project, has been positioned taking into account the existing tree groups on the project area, and the points where the trees are concentrated have been evacuated in places. These dense islets of trees have also been decisive in making decisions for green ground / hard ground under the structure. The preserved green texture was enhanced with gardens designed on open terraces on different floors along the front line of the building and gained a visual and functional integrity / continuity with the nearby Public Garden with the orientation of the structure created.

It is predicted that the shadow element created by the structural structure rising on the area enriched with functions such as multi-purpose activity area, sitting areas, children's playground where various activities and activities, especially official ceremonies can be held, will support / provide continuity for the effective use of different age groups at any time of the day.
